Christmas is a wonderful time in Norway. I love that it is celebrated so extensively here, from Lillejulaften (Little Christmas) on the 23rd to the Romjul period lasting until New Year’s eve. The long holiday season allows for relaxation, good food, and spending time with loved ones.

As last year, we had traditional Christmas food over the various days: risgrøt, ribbe, ham, potatoes, and sweets like apple cake, marzipan, and chocolate.

Romjul is also a nice time to look back on the past year and make plans for the new one. Hope you have a relaxing and reflective romjul! 🙂
